Today's Discussion is on Therapists I had my first ever therapist visit. Let's go over it together! Looking for a therapist is as stressful as applying for a job. I had to call my insurance, double check my plan, search on different websites, read their bios, check their location to make sure it isn't too far away from work or home, call them, get an appointment, figure out my co-pay, figure out my deductibles, fill out their forms, print out their forms and...ugh! But, I did it! Here we are. Luckily my insurance pulled a rabbit out of their hat and I only had a co-pay of $5.00. That's much cheaper than my sister or dad's therapists. As I have said before, my sisters and dad see a therapist. This was my first ever visit to a therapist, so I was quite nervous. Throughout the week I kept plotting in my head what could go horribly wrong. Would I just abruptly leave? What if the chair was not comfy? What if I started crying? Luckily none of those questions en...
Something You Didn't Know About g1immer Part 1 - I LOVE Fake Tattoos! Above is just one of many examples! I love, love, love fake tattoos! Why? Well, there are multiple reasons I can dive into, but let's get started with a simple overview of where I get these amazing works of art currently and what my favorites are! Starting off, I recently moved to a new apartment as many of you know from reading my previous posts, and that means I also had to pick out my local favorite stores. Luckily for me, my favorite grocery store is located in walking distance (I've only walked there twice, but it's totally thanks to the rain, okay). The first day I walked into my grocery store after grabbing a cart (note to self - if you grab a cart you always buy more 'cause you want to fill it up), I saw my favorite thing in the world - children's vending machines. Okay, maybe it isn't my favorite thing in the world, but it is close to it! They were also next to a ri...
g1immer's Pet Peeves in No Particular Order Number 1 - Setting Your Child Down Where You SHOULDN'T Sorry, not sorry lady - you are today's featured topic. Well, I guess I should say you and your child. Today I'm starting off my series by saying I have a million and one pet peeves I'm just itching to complain about! I took the above picture yesterday while waiting for my donuts to be made at a place called Duck Donuts. I was really lucky because after I ordered my dozen cake donuts (no there were no crazy toppings - see my post on foods I hate at iHob ), like four different customers arrived in line after me. There were only two ladies working behind the counter, so one at the cash register and one topping the bakery goods. Glad my timing was perfect! My timing was also perfect to take a screenshot of this lady propping her toddler up on the counter where, as you can see if you look close enough, the employees set the donuts down for people to pick th...
Today's Discussion is on...Depression Sorry for the sad one right after talking about rain (Yikes!) Don't click away from this page just yet! Depression is a very serious subject (one the government likes to ignore,  am I right? ). It's one I have struggled with, personally for a long time. This post won't turn into a cryfest where I want you to feel sorry for me (seriously, don't). You should feel sorry for the people who don't know how to deal with it and who can't/won't/don't know how to - receive help. That said, I will post a link for you if you or someone you know is struggling with their inner demons. I know this is such a safety net for people to post these kind of hotline numbers, so I will go a step further. If you need someone to talk to, feel free to send me a message! I'm always up for making new friends and who knows, maybe I have a little experience of what you are going through. https://suicidepreventionlifeline.org/ ...
Today's Discussion is on Rain in the Summer Just...why? Why does it happen? For the past three days straight I have wanted to go out to my community pool and swim a few laps for my workout, maybe take in some sun, but its been dreary, rainy and humid nonstop! Don't get me wrong, I think that rain can be quite beautiful. I love seeing pictures or gifs of rain because I'm not in it. Rainy weather that I have to run through or drive through is the absolute worst. Rain makes everything around you slow. People walking, people driving, traffic lights, bikers, just...everything. As you will get to know me from my posts, you will learn that I hate it when things don't go my way (duh)! The rainy weather in July needs to stop. I don't remember if last year was this bad, but the past few weeks have just been on and off. I'm also terrified of frogs and rain plus humidity brings the ugly critters out at night. You should see me run from my car to my apartment do...
g1immer's Super Duper Analysis on "Is it Worth it?" Collection series Part 5: Crate Crash - Coasters For Part 5, we take a look at the $10 three pack of Crate coasters included in the Crash Crate. As you can see from the above image, the coasters are bright colors and stand out, especially on my black coffee table. They are also very big and could easily hold a large McDonald's cup. I will talk more in-depth about the size late. You know the drill, I will also conclude today's post explaining if I think they are worth the price point listed on the packaging strip done by numskull's marketing team no doubtingly.  Let's talk about the material these three coasters are made of. As soon as you touch one, you will know exactly what what the material is - it is rubber! Sorry, I guess you can't touch them if you haven't gotten your hands on a Crash Crate yet. The rubber is flexible and sticks nicely to firm surfaces. I've never had a c...
I picked up a 5 Gallon fish tank and accessories! Part 1 - Background and Fish I Considered When I moved into my new apartment (around March, thanks to me breaking up with my boyfriend and wanting to live closer to work), I wanted something to take care of. Sure, my parents old cactus is great, but I'm pretty sure its dead (a story for another time). Because all apartment complexes are evil, they make you pay extra a month for housing a larger pet. With that, I decided I wanted a fish, as I haven't had one since a goldfish in a Spongebob Squarepants 2 Gallon tank in Elementary School. I remember that we had a Spongebob statue in our tank and I was terrfiied our little goldfish would get stuck between his legs (true story), but he never did. I haven't picked up my newest roommate yet, but I did a TON of research about what fish to get, what size tank to get, and what I needed to take care of the little guy. I ended up deciding to get a betta fish, which to b...
g1immer's Super Duper Analysis on "Is it Worth it?" Collection series Part 4: Crate Crash - Mug The most expensive item in the Crash Crate - the Crash Bandicoot Mug, is the next item for us to discuss. The mug is probably my favorite item of the box, mostly due to its size and usability for me. I'm a mug hog! Maybe one day I will share all my tacky video-game related mugs to you all, like my Tales of Xilia ones, my Animal Crossing ones or my Pokemon ones... Let's get right into it then. The Crash Bandicoot mug is black on the outside and silver on the inside. It is made of stainless steel, which is much different from all my other mugs, made of porcelain. I appreciate the use of a different material to make the mug really stand out. I did some quick research to see two factors that would play into the company making a tin one versus a porcelain one. Also, what would the target audience enjoy more? 1. Which material is cheaper to manufacture?...
g1immer's Super Duper Analysis on "Is it Worth it?" Collection series Part 3: Crate Crash - Sticker Sheet We are finally starting with one of the items of the Crash Crate in today's analysis post! Part three and we haven't even really started the "Is it Worth it?" series yet, sorry everyone. As you can tell, I just love to write! In fact, I encourage you all reading this right now to put your fingers to the keyboard and write about something you are passionate about too! Feel free to advertise in my comments section at any time. Anyways, back to the post. As you can see in the picture above, the sticker sheet contains seven stickers, listed below: Crash Bandicoot logo (1 1/2 inch across, 1/2 inch up and down) Wumpa Fruit (1 inch across, 1 inch up and down) Crash Bandicoot face "extra life" (1 inch across, 1 inch up and down) Aku Aku (1 inch across, ~2 inches up and down) Basic Crate (1 1/2 inch across, ~1 inch up an...
g1immer's Super Duper Analysis on "Is it Worth it?" Collection series Part 2: Crate Crash - Packaging Strip Today's discussion is on a piece of paper. A long piece of paper. This is going to get exciting! What is important about this piece of paper is that it is the heart of marketing. A team of people at numbskull had to design this strip and probably get permission every step of the way from Activision about, mind me, their vision for the eye-catcher of their product. This strip that wraps around the Crash Crate ( see my analysis on the box here ) loot box may be more important than the products inside. Without the advertisement right on the box, some passerby customers might have no idea what they are glancing at. The packaging strip should be called the marketing strip, as it also gives customers a taste of what is inside and how much the items are worth. Alright, let's get right to it. The strip's first image is of the iconic Crash Ba...
glimmer's Super Duper Analysis on "Is it Worth it?" Collection series Part 1: Crash Crate - Box Today we will be discussing the Crash Bandicoot Loot Box from numskull and Activision, known as the "Crash Crate". In articular, we are looking at the box itself. After all, all the goodies had to come in something fun and Crash Bandicoot-related, right? As you can see from the above image, the crate fits all of the items inside perfectly. When first opened, the mug was wrapped in bubble wrap. The piece of thick paper with a jungle image was combined with the Crash bottle opener, wrapped in a thin layer of plastic. Besides the missing plastic and bubble wrap, the above image does a good job of showing you all what it looked like when first opening the box. Now, let's talk about the design (my favorite part of the discussion). I pulled the above image off the fan-made Crash Bandicoot Wiki,  Bandipedia . God, you gotta love the names of these wikipe...
Today's Discussion is on the mysterious iHob and their menu food items. Yeah, I know I'm late to the punch on IHob jokes. And yeah, I know this is a super random post. I was at the grocery store minding my own business, pushing my cart past family after family to grab myself a provolne cheese sample when I saw it - the grossest "food" I've ever seen. It was a waffle sandwich (I didn't get close enough to check what horrible ingredient could be inside it), coated with sugar and sprinkles and icing and bubble gum and more sugar. I snapchatted it to my friends and then forgot that snapchat doesn't save pictures unless you add it to your story...so, sorry Internet friends, I don't have a picture of it . Trust me, you wouldn't want to see this thing. What the horrible-looking dessert made me think of was IHop menu items my little sister used to get when we'd go out for breakfast - oh, excuse me, I need to change up this sentence real...
