Today's Discussion is on Glimmer's First Ever Gym Membership! When I started at the job I had now, I found out my company building had a free gym employees could use. EMPLOYEES. I was a lowly contractor at the time. I was promoted to a full-time position after six months or so, but the past Glimmer had no idea that was going to happen, so she signed up for a gym membership in a nearby shopping center. It was a chain gym (mistake number one), but the gym was small enough that it felt homey and more personalized. The gym had only a few people who worked there, and on occasion you would enter and no one else would be there, workers or other people working out. It was a 24-hour gym too, so I could come any time I wanted. Here's the thing about gym memberships...THEY SUCK. Did you see that one coming? Now I'm not going to sit here on my bed and type fast and angrily about my gym and how much it sucked, because, to be honest, it really wasn't all that bad. What D

Today's Discussion is on Morning Birds and Night Owls! Morning birds and night owls? But, owls are birds...shouldn't it be morning doves? Because that is an actual species of bird and that would make more since - bah, who do I write to change for this? Dear World...that would be the start to my letter. I was actually going to start out this post with an Office quote (an The Office quote - that sounds weird), but as you can tell from my scatterbrain this evening, I forgot to write it down before I started diving right into this document as usual. The quote, if you are interested was from the main character Michael, the boss, who says to his crew: "The early worm gets the worm..." The an employee, the jokester Jim, says: "Like another worm? Are they friends?" And then Michael is corrected by another employee. I feel like I can relate to Michael in the morning. Here's the thing about me - I'm not a morning person or an evening person. I'
Today's Discussion is on My Favorite and Least Favorite Drinks! Who's ready for a random thought from Glimmer? Well, today I started thinking about my favorite drinks and other drinks I simply won't touch. Again, I'm a picky eater as I just said in my last post on being a vegetarian. So, naturally, I'm also a picky...drinker! Here's a list of drinks I will NEVER touch: Coffee (of any kind...put sugar in it, milk, creamer, whatever...it still tastes bitter and gross) Tea (of any kind) Cream Soda Coke/Pepsi Diet Soda Mio or Mia or whatever its called, those flavors you add to water Sparkling Water Mountain Dew (any kind...and I call myself a gamer?) Beer, Wine or any alcoholic drink really that tastes like alcohol Energy Drinks of any kind Gatorade (this isn't an energy drink, right?) Plain 2% milk Blueberry Juice Almond milk (gross, gross, gross!) So, yeah, I don't drink a lot of beverages. I've always been g
Today's Discussion is on..National  Something Or Other  Day! Part 2 - National Vegetarian Day (and also the start of October...Happy Start to Inktober!) That was a long introduction...apologies for that. But, how excited are we? It's October! So, now it really is fall! Because my birthday is in September and I love the summer, I always count September as still being summer, which was hard to do when I was in grade school as school always started back up in my month. MY month. Anyways, let's talk about vegetarianism and then more about October's Inktober. So, if you didn't know by my previous posts, twitch streams, tweets, etc., yours truly has been a vegetarian for...about seven months now. If you are like every other person in my life, you'd ask the five W's - where, what, when, why and how? My dad just skipped all those and just kept offering me meat every chance he could get (I have to remind him EVERY time I eat with him or around him that, yes
glimmer's 3-Day Video Game Review! Little Dragons Cafe Promised you on my latest stream that I would write this - so here it is! I picked up Little Dragons Cafe on the day it came out from my local game store. I pre-ordered a copy of the limited edition that ran around $80.00. It came with a stuffed animal dragon about the size of my hands put together, some art cards, reversible box art, a CD, and the game (check out my unboxing video here ). I won't go into if I think the special edition of the game I purchased was worth it, as I can always go into that in a separate post if I so choose to, but I will say that it was a pricey number for a game that not many people knew about. I still wonder who the target audience for the game is. Who picked up the limited edition (besides myself, of course)? Right off the bat, you will notice the game's art style. It's really a big part of what it has going for it. The art makes me feel like the story is coming out of
Today's Discussion is on...Job Hunting! Why do we call it that? It's not like we are stalking interviewers down with a rifle in camo armor (or at least I hope no one does that). Hi everyone! Did you miss me? Well thanks, I missed me too. Well, I missed writing! I also missed seeing you all view my posts. It really brightens up my day! My days as of late haven't been looking too bright, so I really could use the pick-me-up. I've been taking care of family, friends, dealing with bad weather (which usually tends to drain me too, thanks rain), and of course, applying for jobs! Dun dun DUN! I haven't sat down, updated my resume and even glanced at my linkedin or indeed accounts for...about a year now. I've been happy and content with my "new" job, but I still long for that something more. I'm a woman who always is looking for a challenge and I haven't quite found my niche yet in the gaming field. Sure, I love to stream, but I don't make
Something You Don't Know About glimmer Part 5 - She gets migraines! I'll start this post off by thanking my dad for his wonderful genetics - giving me the world's worst headaches. If you don't know what a migraine is...Google it (nah, I kid! I can tell you better than that stinky thing we call the Internet)! A migraine is, as I implied, a really bad headache that is different in severity for everyone who may get one. Everyone who has migraines, however, shares a few common traits - they may have a specific trigger that causes it, there are different, but highly effective cures for each patient, and each person has their own unique symptoms right before the disaster strikes. I'll go over my steps: 1. I get migraines mostly when I'm super stressed and have a lot on my mind. I mostly got them in school and when I was searching for an important job while working full-time somewhere else. 2. I see spots. Have you ever closed your eyes after staring at a l
